PROJECT SHOWCASE

Fall 2023 - Spring 2025

Kaiju Fury is an immersive VR experience where players step into the shoes of cleaners tasked with clearing out Hayata Labs, a kaiju research facility that has suffered a catastrophic outbreak. Using the KATVR Treadmill for full movement and a haptic tactsuit to feel in-game impacts, players must navigate the lab’s hazardous environments, combat kaiju variations, and complete their mission. ​​

Primary Role: Producer​​​

  • Project overseers: Setting deadlines, key deliverablesand tracking progression on status of the game.

  • Creating a structured team and report to directors to clarify roles, delegate tasks, and distribute management responsibilities efficiently. 

  • Onboard teams to use Trello effectively as a tool to track and manage tasks and art assets.

  • Manage communications amongst teams of designers, artists, composers, and leads. ​

Secondary Role: Level Designer

  • ​Plan and block-out levels consisting of player encounters and events. 

  • Make the tutorial experience and environment.

  • Playtests and gather data to iteratively develop the future levels.

  • Organize standups with art team to steer onboarding asset creation.

2D brawler where players are equipped with a 3-hit combo and ranged ability to save Luna the cat. I designed and implemented engaging combat mechanics, enemy behaviors, and level flow. 

Game & Combat Designer Responsibilities: 

  • Combat System Design – Scripted and fine-tuned player movement, including a responsive 3-hit combo system and special ability. 

  • Enemy AI & Behavior – Designed different enemy class types with unique behaviors such as patrol, chase, and attack. 

  • Story Integration – Structured a narrative experience using limited sprints and audio assets to complement the gameplay.

  • Game Balance & Iteration – Adjusted combat mechanics, enemy difficulty, and pacing through playtesting and iteration to refine the player experience. 

  • Collaboration & Problem-Solving – Worked closely with other and designers to ensure smooth gameplay, hit detection, and attack feedback.
